Buena Vista Horace Mann K-8 Community School is in the center of the historic Mission District in San Francisco. We are the city's first Spanish-language immersion school, and the only public school in the nation to host a shelter onsite, serving SFUSD families. We are an arts school; we host a dance program, and are one of five schools in the district with a mariachi program. We are the only school in the city to have our own comparsa in Carnaval, and just participated in our 41st consecutive parade.

Our students are 91% Latino; 86% socioeconomically disadvantaged; 15% in special education; and 6% unhoused. At full capacity, we serve more than 600 students. As a community school, we provide food boxes, clothing, housing help, translation, and tax help, among other services.
